Day 718 –Signs of Spring — Haibun Journey Beauty Each Day
Today’s beauty was found while picking up all the fallen branches form the snow storm last week. As I gathered branches from the garden, I started pulling out last fall’s debris. Under the autumn leaves and decaying foliage were anemic green shoots alongsging for the sun. The dried Siberian iris gently rattled in the wind. Then the wind began to pierce through my sweater. Looking up I noticed how many more blossoms had opened and I caught the lovely fragrance of the daffodil. Sometimes I am impatient waiting for things to happen. I sat back and looked around and noticed a dandelion flower and some violets. I thought I’m surrounded by beauty and should be content. Today is today. I don’t want to rush forward and miss it.
